The group Masks and Clowns came from the fascination for the famous Venice Carnival, during which eccentric and elegant outfits contrasting but matching with austere and penetrating masks, all of it surrounded by a dreamlike theatrical scene. In contrast, the figure of the clowns reveal emotions and feelings through a mask that, as an oxymoron, at the same time expresses mirth and torment, happiness and deep sadness.
